Comparative Biographical Chart

This Comparative Biographical Chart for John Quincy Adams and his father, John Adams, shows him to be a real "chip off the old block". Both graduated from Harvard around the age of 20, married around the age of 30, and became Presidents of the United States in the latter years of middle age (58 for John Quincy, 62 for John Adams).

However, John Quincy seems more consumed by his political career, commencing more than a decade earlier than his father and continuing past his Presidency to serve in the House of Representatives, where he collapsed on the floor at the age of 81. His father, on the other hand, retired from politics after his Presidency and lived to the ripe old age of 91!
