TreeDraw Legacy Edition Released

SpanSoft, maker of TreeDraw, and MyHeritage Ltd., maker of Legacy Family Tree, are pleased to announce the release of a special edition of TreeDraw for Legacy Family Tree.

TreeDraw is a highly popular graphics utility for producing high quality genealogy charts right from Legacy family files. After importing tree data, you can re-arrange the tree and add extra text and graphics before storing or printing. You have control over which data TreeDraw imports and how it formats it, so charts may be as complex or as simple as you wish. Charts can range from a single printed page to large wall charts.

Legacy Family tree is the widely acclaimed and comprehensive genealogy program for the Windows operating system. From world-class merging, search and replace, and spell checking to powerful research logs, reports and sources, Legacy overpowers the competition with an unbeatable feature list.

In December 2000, The Legacy 3.0 Standard Edition of was made free. A inexpensive Deluxe Edition of the program that includes many new and exciting features was introduced on the market at the same time.

TreeDraw Legacy Edition imports data direct from Legacy family files so there's no need to use GEDCOM. This edition allows you to import many more of Legacy's data types, including events, addresses and pictures, and still gives you TreeDraw's superior control over formatting.

By importing a combination of descendant and ancestral trees from one or more data files, it is possible to build complex charts which can extend in any direction.

TreeDraw maintains a link between each chart text element and the source field in the original Legacy database. This means that you can update each text element automatically to mirror any changes in the original data. The tree link for each text element can also be modified manually. This is a powerful feature which gives you control over the content and format of the text in the chart.

Additional text elements may be entered manually to provide titles, headings, comments, etc.

As well as text, you can place into the chart simple graphics (lines, boxes, circles) and images like pictures, clip-art, diagrams, etc.

TreeDraw lets you control the size, shape, style, color and alignment of all chart elements and supports color printing.

Additional features in this Legacy Edition allow you to make better use of the type of data held in Legacy. These include events, addresses and pictures.
