Creating PDF Files in Legacy Deluxe
Did you know that Legacy Deluxe can create the popular Adobe
PDF (Portable Document File) file? Adobe PDF files retain the look of the
original document in a compact format ideal for e-mail attachments or files that
can be downloaded from the Internet. With the free Adobe Acrobat Reader
software, you can view and print Adobe PDF files across a broad range of
hardware and operating systems.
There is no need for a special PDF software. It's available right in Legacy:
Select the kind of report to create and choose your report options. Next click the Preview button on the right side of the report screen. Legacy then builds the report and paginates it. The first page is then displayed on the screen.
Click Create PDF to create the report as an Adobe PDF file. This prompts for a filename and location to save the PDF file.
After it has been saved, you can send this file as an e-mail attachment. This can be viewed with the Adobe Acrobat Reader, which can downloaded free from
In addition after the Adobe Acrobat Reader is installed, you can customize Legacy to launch the reader every time you create a PDF file. Simply click
Options on the menu bar and select Customize / Launch.
Click the Change button and specify the drive and path to the Adobe Acrobat Reader. For example, most Acrobat Reader installations will install the software to: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 6.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe. (This will vary depending on the version of the reader and installation location.) When your done, be sure to click Save.
